Dear Members,

One of the most common questions I get as a NEACAC leader is, “How can I get involved?” Often, the first step is to join a committee. Maybe you’d like to help plan the Annual Meeting and Conference? (That’s where I started my work with NEACAC, serving on the On-Site Subcommittee of the AMC Planning Committee in 1994-95 when Brandeis University was our host.)  Or perhaps you’re interested in the political realm and would like to learn about, report on, and participate in advocacy efforts on the state and federal level for issues that are important to NEACAC and our professional work?  Or do you work at a two-year college, and are looking for opportunities to network with colleagues and participate in relevant professional development programs?

NEACAC has fourteen standing committees, and the Executive Board and Governing Board appoint additional ad-hoc committees to address particular needs.  (In the past, for example, ad-hocs have discussed the timing and setting of the Annual Meeting, developing our Adopt-A-District program, creating our Strategic Plans/Strategic Framework, and planning our 50th Anniversary Celebration.)

Our current committees are:

To access specific committee details, log in using your Member credentials and click on a committee from the "Committees" menu. Once logged in, you may learn more about the committee's work, fill out a form to express interest in joining, and see a list of current members.
You must be a NEACAC member to serve on a committee, and some committees may be at capacity for volunteers.

We are also beginning to solicit volunteers soon to serve on planning committees for NACAC’s National Conference, to be held in Boston in September, 2017. If you are interested in working with Boston’s Local Advisory Committee for NACAC, please email  And if you’d like to get involved but don’t know where to start or what you can commit to, feel free to reach out to Local Advisory Committee Chairs -- Kathi Moody ( and Jeff Gallant ( to discuss the various opportunities available.

We look forward to your involvement in NEACAC!
